Potty Training sucks
Lars decided to potty train himself at 2 years old (almost exactly) and I decided to go with it. He spends most of his day with no pants on and he's figured out that it's pretty cool to pee outside. He's pretty good about it - he at least gets to the deck, which just takes a pitcher of water to clean up.
He is now embarassed by a diaper and won't wear one - even to nap. So I've been washing sheets. Hopefully he figures it out soon! He's got the day part down, it's the sleeping that's the problem...

Lars :: Cookies with nuts
So Lars is allergic to nuts. When we found out I read every label only to discover most of what he was eating had nuts in it - including chocolate chips (made in a factory with nuts). Lars and I usually make chocolate chip cookies every week. It's one of his favorite activities to do in real life, and to pretend. Last week he grabbed a bowl out of the drawer and started making "koo-koo-ies." He got out eggs (pretend) and stirred it all up. The he started coughing and I asked what was wrong. He told me he put nuts in the cookies. So we took some pretend medicine.
He made cookies with nuts - then asked for medicine. He gets the connection but there's a step he's missing - don't eat the nuts.

A break through!
Last night I made pasta (multi colored bug shaped pasta) for dinner and set some aside for Lars when I doused ours in Alfredo sauce. He ate it! He even asked for the parmesan cheese to sprinkle on his pasta - which he did - and he ate. I was so thrilled it was all I could do to sit calmly and continue talking about Little Gym.
