Lars :: Words

Babbling continues, actual words seem to evade us, but more consonants have been added including the infamous "ga-ga." At 21 months he continues with the basic words:

"sshush" = juice
"sheesh" = keys
"gigi" = Grammy Gwen
"gi-ja" - Grammy Joyce

Lars :: Little Gym

Every week he gets a stamp from the Little Gym teacher. It started with one stamp on his foot. As he has been able to ask for more stamps and watch other children, he has added both hands and both feet to the stamp routine. Yesterday at Little Gym, Lars went to sit in a row with the little girls to get his stamp. (a first for lining up - finding a spot where he fit and not just moving someone to get a spot - and waiting patiently) The little girl next to him lifted up her shirt to get a stamp on her belly button. When it was Lars's turn, he held out his hands, pointed to his feet, and then gave me a sly smile and lifted up his shirt. All day he was really proud of his belly button stamp and showed Adam as soon as he got home.

Baby Girl :: 21 weeks

Baby Girl Hedin is kicking fiercely. She could not be any more active all hours of the day and night. What started as small flutters at 16 weeks has become a full fledged soccer game. At least we're halfway there!

Lars :: Growing up

Lars can now get himself up into his highchair - and back out. And can get into the car and sit in his car seat. Or, as he prefers, into the driver's seat. He can get to the driver's seat from anywhere in the car. At the tailgate, it was his favorite spot.

Lars and the TV

Lars is bonkers for Mickey Mouse Clubhouse on Disney. It started in Italy where he got to watch Mickey before bed, naps, and anytime he was a little crazy. Since we discovered it on On Demand, it means he can still see it anytime he wants - and he wants. He asks for it by saying "kuh" which I assume is the K in Mickey. OnDemand only has four shows at a time and after one week of being home from Italy (not even a full week, we got home Tuesday) I have seen every episode several times. Enough times that the songs run through my head.
