Lars :: The Potty

Today Lars was running around without a diaper because he's figured out how to take it off. I was in my room and came out to check on him and he had a dish towel in his hand and he was trying to clean up the pee that was on the floor.

Lars :: Martini boy

Yesterday morning Lars found a golf ball sleeve in his toy cupboard. He took it over to the freezer and filled it up with about three ice cubes. He put his hand on top and shook it up - just like papa.

Lars :: The POTTY!

Lars used the potty for the first time today. When I was going to the bathroom he followed me in and wanted to take his diaper off. He sat on his potty and went pee all by himself.

Then when we went to Little Gym, he pooped on the way in and refused to play until I changed his diaper. We had to race out to the car and race back in.

Lars :: Amazing sense of direction

Lars has a remarkable sense of direction. Whenever we are near 85th and 15th, he starts clapping for Little Gym. If we drive by the grocery store, he asks for bananas and juice. And last week we went to Macrina on 1st Avenue to meet my friend Rebecca for lunch. He fell asleep in the car and when he woke up two blocks away from Safeco Field, he started telling me about baseball. Amazing. It's a good thing because I'll need help as my brain keeps getting worse.

Lars :: Food

Lars is still really particular about food, but we have found a new trick for getting him to eat. If we relate any food to a sporting event that he has been to, he'll eat it. For example, at Husky Stadium we eat hot dogs. So at home when we make hot dogs I call them foot ball hot dogs and he eats them up. It's caused a small new wrinkle in that he thinks he needs to watch the sport while he eats the food. I can always find replays of football games on Monday and Friday - but the middle of the week is a little sparse. And "baseball fish sticks" have been really hard to sell since baseball season ended.

Baby Girl :: 22 weeks

I went to the doctor yesterday for a fetal/ contraction monitor because I have had a lot of pain recently. The monitor showed baby girl's heartbeat was perfect and she was content. And that I was not having contractions of any kind. But the pain didn't stop. Last night Adam determined that she is just pushing incredibly hard on me to the point of bad pain. Scale of 1-10? About a 2, but that's only because I've been through labor and I know it can be A LOT worse!

Lars

Lars has officially moved to one nap. During lunch time, when you want to be doing something else - Lars now wants to be napping. I really needed him to take two naps. The morning one helped me get the house tidied up, the afternoon one gave me nap time too. Bummer dude.
