Lars :: Dressing himself

Lars has been a big helper recently by dressing himself and choosing his own outfits. This morning, to go to the park, he chose a pair of jeans, a short sleeve shirt, a sweatshirt, and boots. It was actually a perfect outfit until we realized the jeans were still a little too big. But they were in the right bin - so it's my fault they were there rather than his for choosing them.

The bins have been labled with pictures because before that our outfits were really interesting. He wanted to dress himself, but what he could reach were clothes for the baby or random pajamas. So I took pictures of him wearing different items of clothing and put them on the bins. He now picks great outfits most of the time.

Pearl :: Day 4 + Lars 'drives' to the park

I forgot to take pictures yesterday - it was the Super Bowl and I was napping. But today, the family went for a walk to Laurelhurst Park. Since Adam is working from home this week, it didn't seem that daunting.

Pearl :: Day 2

The first night we learned that Pearl does not like to sleep by herself and wants to be held all night long. A challenge to overcome - but not that bad. She loves to eat and ate for an hour at a time the first day. Her weight dropped to 6 pounds 5 ounces at the hospital - but not enough to make us stay another day.

Jerry (the birthday boy), Roxanne, Ray, and Kristin Platt Rose came to visit us. Mom and Dad brought Lars to meet his sister. He was thrilled with his new sister and kept saying it was "Waas" (Lars's). He really wanted to hold her and lay his head on her (a hug).

Pearl :: Day 1

Pearl Marie was born February 5th at 5:27pm at Swedish Hospital. She didn't cry right away when she was born and didn't even cry when she got her shots. From birth she looked exactly like Lars did - except without the cone shaped head.
